- People with severe memory or thinking difficulties — for example, those who are not clearly aware of who they are, where they are, or why they are in hospital, or who cannot follow simple two-step instructions
- People with neurological paralysis, multiple serious injuries that prevent certain exercises, or who require knee immobilisation or complete bed rest
- People who are on a breathing machine (ventilator), require high levels of oxygen support through certain devices, have unstable blood pressure requiring medication to stabilise it, or have unstable neurological conditions such as strokes, bleeding in the brain, or increased pressure in the skull
- People with open wounds or surgical sites that need to stay completely still, wounds that are packed, dressed, or connected to a wound vacuum device, or surgical wounds that are leaking fluid or showing signs of infection
- People who are currently incarcerated
- People whose mobile phone does not have iOS capability (i.e., it is not an iPhone or Apple device)
