Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with a specific type of esophageal cancer called squamous cell carcinoma, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy)
- After receiving 2 to 4 rounds of initial chemotherapy (with or without immunotherapy), your cancer either stayed the same, grew only in the nearby area, or was considered by surgeons to be unable to be removed with surgery — and has not spread to distant parts of the body
- You are generally able to carry out normal daily activities (measured by a standard health score of 70 or above)
- Your blood counts and organ function are within acceptable ranges, meaning your blood, liver, and kidneys are working well enough (confirm with trial site for exact values)
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with another type of cancer in addition to esophageal cancer — with the exception of certain fully treated skin cancers or early-stage cervical cancer that has been cured
- At the time of your diagnosis, the cancer had already spread to distant parts of the body, such as bones, brain, lungs, liver, or caused fluid build-up around the lungs or abdomen
- You currently have an active infection, such as active tuberculosis or active hepatitis
- You have a medical reason why you cannot receive targeted therapy (confirm with trial site)
