Who might be able to join this trial:
- You must be 18 years of age or older
- You must be living in the United Kingdom at the time you sign up for the trial
- You must be registered with an NHS GP practice
- You must fall into one of two groups: either you have been diagnosed with one of the following cancers in the last 24 months (bladder, bowel/colorectal, endometrial, liver, oesophageal, ovarian, pancreatic, stomach, uterine, or vulval cancer) — OR — you have not been diagnosed with any type of cancer in the last 6 years (a diagnosis of non-melanoma skin cancer is an exception to this)
- You must be the named, primary account holder of either a Tesco Clubcard or a Boots Advantage Card, and be willing to share your loyalty card shopping data with the research team
- You must be willing and able to take part in all required study activities and give written consent to join
Who may not be able to join:
- People under the age of 18
- People who are not living in the UK at the time of signing up
- People who do not hold an eligible Tesco Clubcard or Boots Advantage Card, and have no one in their household who does
- People who are not the primary named cardholder in their household, if the primary cardholder is either unwilling to also join the study, or does not do shopping on their behalf
- People wishing to join as a cancer case (Group 1) if their eligible cancer diagnosis was made more than 24 months ago, or if they have also had a different, non-eligible cancer diagnosis within the last 6 years (unless that diagnosis was non-melanoma skin cancer)
- People wishing to join as a control (Group 2) if they have received any cancer diagnosis in the last 6 years (unless it was non-melanoma skin cancer)
