Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are over 18 years of age
- People who have advanced breast cancer
- People whose breast cancer is either triple-negative (meaning it tests negative for hormone receptors and HER2) or hormone receptor positive/HER2 negative where the cancer has continued to grow after treatment with hormone therapy combined with a CDK4/6 inhibitor drug
- People whose cancer can be measured using standard imaging criteria and has a tumor that can be reached for a biopsy
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities with no or only minor limitations (a level doctors rate as 0 or 1 on a standard performance scale)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have already received more than 3 rounds of chemotherapy for their advanced breast cancer (hormone therapy and CDK4/6 inhibitor treatments are not counted toward this number)
- People who have brain metastases (cancer that has spread to the brain) that are currently growing or worsening
- People who have cancer that has spread to the thin layers of tissue surrounding the brain and spinal cord (called leptomeningeal metastasis)
