Who might be able to join this trial:

• Children from newborn up to 17 years old may be eligible
• Children who are currently admitted, or are about to be admitted, to a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, or Newborn Intensive Care Unit
• Children who are currently on a life support machine that pumps blood outside the body (called ECMO) or who are considered at high risk of needing one
• Children considered high risk may include those who have had or are having heart surgery, have a heart condition they were born with, have a condition affecting the diaphragm they were born with, have severe breathing problems that are not responding to treatment, or have dangerously low blood pressure that is not responding to medication

Who may not be able to join:

• Anyone who is pregnant
• Children who have certain devices implanted in their body, such as a pacemaker, implanted defibrillator, implanted insulin pump, deep brain stimulator, vagus nerve stimulator, cochlear implant, or a programmable brain shunt
• Children who have surgical hardware in their body (such as staples or screws) that is not safe for use near an MRI machine
• Children who have tattoos or permanent make-up on the head or neck that contain metal
• Children who may have metal in or near their eyes — for example, if they have worked with metal or been injured by metal fragments (confirm with trial site)
• Children who have metal shrapnel in their body
• Note: some passive (non-electronic) implants may still be allowed — please confirm with the trial site
