Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between the ages of 40 and 90
- People who were right-handed before their stroke
- People who speak English well
- People who have had a single ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel) in a specific area of the brain called the middle cerebral artery territory, on either the left or right side of the brain
- People who have difficulty with language or communication as a result of their stroke (this applies to certain parts of the study)
- People who are able to understand what the study involves and agree to take part

- People who are in a stable medical condition
Who may not be able to join:

- People with a significant psychiatric condition, or one that is not well managed
- People currently misusing alcohol or drugs, including prescription medications
- People with serious vision or hearing loss that cannot be corrected with glasses or hearing aids
- People receiving treatments beyond standard stroke care — for example, medications not typically used after stroke (confirm with trial site)
