Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with follicular lymphoma (grades 1, 2, or 3a) and have not yet received any treatment for it.
- People whose lymphoma is classified as stage II, III, or IV.
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form and follow the study's requirements.
- People who have at least one area of lymphoma that can be measured on scans.
- People whose lymphoma is causing enough symptoms or problems to need treatment, shown by at least one of the following: fever above 38°C not caused by infection; night sweats; weight loss of more than 10% in the past 6 months; fatigue caused by the lymphoma; an enlarged spleen (over 13 cm); pressure on nearby organs such as the kidneys, eyes, or digestive system; low blood counts (low red blood cells, platelets, or white blood cells) caused by the lymphoma; fluid build-up around the lungs or abdomen; abnormal levels of certain proteins in the blood (LDH or beta-2 microglobulin); or other lymphoma-related symptoms as judged by the treating doctor.
- People who are reasonably well and able to carry out daily activities (confirmed using a standard medical scale called ECOG, with a score of 0, 1, or 2).
- People whose blood counts and organ function fall within the ranges required by the trial, including acceptable white blood cell counts, platelet levels, liver function, kidney function, and blood clotting results (confirm with trial site for exact values).
- Women of childbearing age who have a negative pregnancy test at the start of the study.
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose lymphoma has spread to the brain or the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
- People whose follicular lymphoma has changed (transformed) into a more aggressive type called diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
- People diagnosed with grade 3b follicular lymphoma.
- People who have had any other cancer besides follicular lymphoma.
- People who have had a severe allergic reaction (including anaphylaxis) to a type of treatment called monoclonal antibody therapy in the past.
- People who have had major surgery within the 14 days before joining the trial.
- People who are pregnant or currently breastfeeding.
- People the research team considers unsuitable to take part, based on their overall assessment.
