Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged 18 years or older
- People who have been diagnosed (confirmed by tissue sample) with advanced, recurrent, metastatic, or inoperable liver cancer (HCC) — or, for one part of the trial, possibly other tumour types that express a protein called GPC3 (confirm with trial site)
- People who have at least one tumour that can be measured using standard imaging guidelines
- People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities meets a specific level on a standard medical scale (ECOG score of 0 or 1 — confirm with trial site)
- People whose liver function falls within a specific category on a standard scoring system (Child-Pugh Class A — confirm with trial site)
- People whose kidneys, liver, blood, and other organs are functioning at an adequate level
Who may not be able to join:
- People with known active cancer spread to the brain or the lining around the brain
- People with any current acute illness, including an active infection
- People who have had a liver transplant or are currently on a liver transplant waiting list
- People who have untreated or incompletely treated enlarged veins (varices) that are bleeding or considered at high risk of bleeding
- People with uncontrolled fluid build-up around the lungs, heart, or in the abdomen
- People with a history of symptomatic heart failure
- People with a history of severe ongoing or frequently returning autoimmune or immune-related disease that has required steroids or other treatments that suppress the immune system within the past year
- (For one specific part of the trial only) People with certain less common types of liver cancer, including fibrolamellar HCC, sarcomatoid HCC, or a mixed type involving bile duct cancer
- (For one specific part of the trial only) People with significant heart or blood vessel disease
- (For one specific part of the trial only) People who have had a severe allergic reaction to the medications atezolizumab or bevacizumab
- (For one specific part of the trial only) People with a history of a lung scarring condition called idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis
- (For one specific part of the trial only) People with a history of a severe high blood pressure crisis or high blood pressure affecting the brain
