Who might be able to join this trial:
- People between 19 and 89 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with diabetes
- People who have signs or symptoms of nerve damage (neuropathy), with a pain score of 5 or higher on a pain scale, and have been diagnosed with poor blood flow in the legs (peripheral arterial disease), causing leg pain with walking that scores 6 or higher on a pain scale, lasting at least 3 months
- People who have already had a successful temporary spinal cord stimulator (SCS) trial — meaning it reduced their chronic leg pain by more than 50% — and are scheduled to have a permanent SCS device implanted before the study begins
Who may not be able to join:
- People with a psychological or psychiatric condition that is not well managed
- People who are unable to temporarily stop blood-thinning medications according to specific medical guidelines (confirm with trial site)
- People who have wounds that are not healing
- People who have gangrene (tissue death due to lack of blood supply)
- People who have severely reduced blood flow to a limb that is threatening tissue survival (critical limb ischemia)
- People who have previously had a lower leg or foot amputation
- People who would be unable to attend or complete the required follow-up visits
- People whose spine is found to be unstable based on specific spinal X-rays
- People who currently have or have previously had a spinal cord stimulator implant
