Who might be able to join this trial:

• Your eye measurement called MPOD (a measure of a pigment in the eye) must be below 0.43
• You must report having vision of 20/40 or better in each eye, even with glasses or contact lenses
• Your Body Mass Index (BMI) must be between 18.5 and 30 (a measure of body weight relative to height)
• You must meet the requirements listed on the study's initial questionnaire

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are allergic to lutein, zeaxanthin, or fish oil (ingredients used in the study)
• People who have been taking supplements containing more than 6 mg of lutein and/or more than 2 mg of zeaxanthin for more than two months before the study begins
• People whose MPOD eye measurement is above 0.43
• People who report having vertigo (a dizzy or spinning sensation)
• People with certain eye conditions, including diabetic retinopathy, retinitis pigmentosa, optic neuropathy, retinal vascular occlusions, or strabismus (crossed eyes)
• People with autoimmune disorders that affect eye health
• People who are currently pregnant or trying to become pregnant
• People with a history of concussion
• People who follow a vegan diet (the placebo capsule contains gelatin, which is animal-based)
• People currently taking medications that affect the brain or nervous system, such as Ritalin, Adderall, antidepressants, or similar medicines
