Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People who have been diagnosed with Schizophrenia (using a standard international diagnostic system called ICD-10) for more than 2 years
  • People with moderate to severe symptoms, based on specific rating scale scores measured by clinicians (PANSS score above 75 and/or CGI-SCH score above 4)
  • People who have been on the same antipsychotic medication at the same dose for at least 1 month before joining the trial, with no recent changes
  • People of any gender between the ages of 18 and 60 years old

  • People who are in a psychiatric emergency situation, such as those considered at risk of suicide, experiencing catatonia (a state of unresponsiveness), severe nutritional deprivation, or who are showing aggression or extreme agitation
  • People for whom the trial's brain stimulation procedure (called tDCS) would not be safe, including those who have metal in their head, an implanted brain device, or a wound or injury on their scalp or head
  • People who have a neurological condition (a disease affecting the brain or nervous system) in addition to their schizophrenia diagnosis
  • People who are left-handed
