Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are having robotic surgery to remove the prostate for high-risk localised prostate cancer, where "high-risk" is defined by at least one of the following: a Gleason grade (cancer aggressiveness score) of 8 or higher, a PSA level of 20 or higher, or imaging showing the cancer has spread beyond the prostate wall.
- People who have normal or near-normal sexual function before surgery, measured by a standard questionnaire score of 17 or above (confirm with trial site).
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had previous surgery in the pelvic area.
- People who have had previous radiation therapy to the pelvic area.
- People who have previously had focal therapy (a targeted treatment) for prostate cancer.
- People who are under 18 years of age at the time of diagnosis.
- People who are not legally able to give their own consent to participate.
- People who are unable to complete questionnaires themselves and do not have a companion available to help them do so.
- People who are having surgery for another cancer at the same time.
- People who have a pre-existing neurological condition (a condition affecting the brain, spinal cord, or nerves).
