Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are male or female and older than 12 years of age
- You have been diagnosed with alopecia areata (a condition causing hair loss) by a certified skin doctor, and your doctor has already prescribed you a medication called ritlecitinib as part of your normal treatment
- You (or your legal guardian) are willing and able to sign a consent form after being fully informed about the study — teenagers may also need to give their own agreement depending on local rules
- You are willing and able to attend regular clinic visits and fill out questionnaires about how you are feeling and experiencing the condition
Who may not be able to join:
- You have been diagnosed with a different type of hair loss condition, such as male/female pattern baldness, traction alopecia, scarring alopecia, or temporary hair shedding (telogen effluvium)
- You have another scalp condition (such as scalp psoriasis or dermatitis) or another ongoing illness (such as lupus or thyroid inflammation) that could affect how hair loss is measured in this study
- You have previously been treated with ritlecitinib or any similar type of medication known as a JAK inhibitor
- You work at the clinic running this study, work for the company sponsoring it (Pfizer), or are a close family member of someone who does
