Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People aged 10 and older who have already been diagnosed with Crohn's disease
  • People who are already scheduled to have a magnetic resonance enterography (MRE) scan — a type of MRI scan that looks at the intestines — for one of the following reasons: to check on intestinal inflammation, to look at a known or suspected narrowing in the bowel, or to look at a known or suspected internal complication of Crohn's disease

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who are having their first scan to find out whether they have Crohn's disease, where the diagnosis has not yet been confirmed
  • People who have only recently been diagnosed with Crohn's disease and are having their first baseline scan
  • People whose Crohn's disease only affects the large bowel (colon), with no involvement of the small bowel
  • People who are pregnant or may be pregnant
  • People for whom an MRI scan is not medically safe (confirm with trial site)
  • People who have had a surgical opening in the abdomen for the bowel (ileostomy) or who have had part of their small bowel removed
  • People under 10 years of age
  • People who are not able or not willing to follow the scanning procedures required by the study
  • People who do not speak English
