Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with breast cancer (confirmed by a tissue or cell sample) that has either spread to nearby areas and cannot be removed by surgery or treated with high-dose radiotherapy, or has spread to other parts of the body and is not suitable for intensive treatment.
- You are a woman aged 18 or older.
- You are postmenopausal, meaning you meet at least one of the following: you have had your ovaries removed; you are aged 60 or older; you are between 41 and 60 years old and have not had a period for at least 1 year; or you are under 60 and are receiving treatment to stop your ovaries from working.
- Your breast cancer has been tested and confirmed to be ER-positive (driven by oestrogen), HER2-negative, and has a specific gene change called an ESR1 mutation.
- Your cancer has already been treated with at least one hormone-based (endocrine) therapy before joining the trial, whether taken alone or in combination with another treatment.
- Your major organs (such as liver and kidneys) are functioning normally, as assessed by the trial doctor.
Who may not be able to join:
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- You have known difficulty swallowing tablets or capsules, a condition that affects how your body absorbs oral medications, or a known allergy to the trial drug or any of its ingredients.
- There are other medical or personal reasons that the trial doctor believes make it unsuitable for you to take part (confirm with trial site).
