Who might be able to join this trial:
Group 1 (people with pancreatic cancer):
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have agreed to take part by signing a consent form
- You have been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer that has been confirmed by a tissue test and can be removed by surgery
Group 2 (people at high risk of pancreatic cancer):
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have agreed to take part by signing a consent form
- You have a high risk of pancreatic cancer because of at least one of the following:
- Two or more close blood relatives (parents, siblings, children, grandparents, aunts, uncles) on the same side of the family have had pancreatic cancer
- You carry an inherited gene change called STK11 (LKB1), regardless of family history
- You carry an inherited gene change called CDKN2A (affecting p16), regardless of family history
- You carry an inherited gene change in one of these genes — APC, ATM, BRCA1, BRCA2, MLH1, MSH2, MSH6, PMS2, EPCAM, PALB2, or TP53 — AND at least one close blood relative has had pancreatic cancer
- You have hereditary pancreatitis (a recurring or long-term inflammation of the pancreas linked to an inherited change in the PRSS1 gene)
- You also meet specific age requirements depending on your risk factor (confirm with trial site for your exact age requirement)
Who may not be able to join:
Group 1 (people with pancreatic cancer):
- You have had any other type of cancer in the past
- You currently have a cancer that cannot be cured
- You are not well enough to have surgery to fully remove the tumor
- You follow a vegan or vegetarian diet
Group 2 (people at high risk):
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant in the next 12 months
- You have had any type of cancer in the past
- You currently have a cancer that cannot be cured
- You are unable to have the required scans or blood tests as part of the study
- You follow a vegan or vegetarian diet

Primary endpoints
The primary objective is to verify that the investigational IVDSW can discriminate between results of patients with PaC and persons without PaC but at higher risk of this cancer disease due to their predispositions.
