Who might be able to join this trial:

  • People with ALS (a nervous system disease affecting muscle control) who are between 50 and 60 years old and have a similar age when their disease started and a similar length of time since diagnosis as other participants.
  • People with multiple sclerosis (MS) who have recently been diagnosed, are between 20 and 50 years old, and where the mix of male and female participants follows roughly a 2-to-1 female-to-male ratio.

Who may not be able to join:

  • Anyone who does not agree to take part in the study.
  • MS patients who have been treated with medicines that affect the immune system or steroids, and whose MS is currently in an active (acute) phase.
