Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You have been rated as generally healthy or having only mild health conditions by your anesthesia team (called ASA grade I or II), can read and understand Chinese, and are able to communicate clearly with your doctors
- You are planning to have your first total knee replacement surgery on one knee only, under general anesthesia, and have never had previous surgery on that knee
- You are willing to take part voluntarily, sign a consent form, and take part in all required assessments
Who may not be able to join:
- You are already using other pain management treatments before your surgery
- You have nerve or muscle problems in the leg being operated on, or other health conditions that could affect your recovery after surgery
- You have an allergy, sensitivity, or any medical reason why you cannot take any of the medications being used in this study
- You have had a heart artery blockage, a stent placed in a blood vessel, a blood clot in a vein, a blood clot in the lungs, a heart attack, or a stroke within the past 6 months
- You have serious liver or kidney problems, blood clotting disorders, an irregular heartbeat, an active infection, or other conditions that make surgery unsafe
- You have any neurological (brain or nerve) or psychiatric (mental health) conditions that could affect your pain after surgery or make it difficult to take part in the study assessments (confirm with trial site)
- You have a history of misusing, abusing, or being dependent on opioid painkillers, other prescription medications, illegal drugs, or alcohol
