Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, confirmed through a tissue sample (biopsy)
- People who have already received chemotherapy before surgery (called neoadjuvant chemotherapy)
- People who are reasonably active and able to carry out daily activities, as measured by a standard health scale scoring 0 to 2 (confirm with trial site)
- People who still had cancer in their underarm or nearby lymph nodes after chemotherapy, or who had cancer spread to lymph nodes above or below the collarbone before starting treatment
- People whose cancer has not spread to distant parts of the body
- People whose imaging scans showed no cancer spread to the lymph nodes behind the breastbone (internal mammary nodes) before starting treatment
- People who are willing to attend follow-up appointments
- People who have provided written informed consent to participate
Who may not be able to join:
- People who did not receive chemotherapy before surgery
- People whose cancer has spread to distant parts of the body
- People who have cancer in both breasts at the same time
- People whose imaging or tissue tests showed cancer spread to the lymph nodes behind the breastbone before starting treatment
- People who have had, or currently have, a second type of cancer — with some exceptions, such as certain non-serious skin cancers, papillary or follicular thyroid cancer, cervical carcinoma in situ, or non-invasive cancer in the other breast (confirm with trial site)
