Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have operable, locally advanced squamous cell carcinoma (a type of cancer) of the esophagus (the tube connecting the throat to the stomach)
- People who have already received a combination of chemotherapy and radiation therapy (with or without immunotherapy) before surgery, and whose surgery successfully removed all visible cancer, but where a full response to treatment (no remaining cancer cells) was not achieved
- People who are considered well enough to receive immunotherapy after surgery

- People whose expected survival after surgery is at least 6 months

- People who currently have another type of cancer at the same time

- People who have serious or poorly managed health conditions that the trial doctor believes could affect their ability to participate or influence the results
- People who have social or psychological difficulties that the trial doctor believes make participation unsuitable
- People who are unable to attend regular, long-term follow-up appointments at the trial medical institution
- People who are unwilling or unable to follow the requirements of the study plan
