Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have had a confirmed stroke (either a blocked blood vessel or a bleed in the brain) no more than 7 days before joining the trial
- People who have weakness or paralysis in one arm as a result of their stroke
- People who are able to understand and follow the instructions given during the study
- People who can move their fingers (at least a small amount — 3 degrees of movement) at least three times per minute
- People whose arm movement after stroke falls below a certain score on a standard medical assessment called the Fugl-Meyer Upper Extremity scale (a score under 47) (confirm with trial site)
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a known reason they cannot take part in the treatment being tested, or who are known to be sensitive or intolerant to it
- People who had a pre-existing disability in the affected arm before their stroke
- People who have a neurological condition other than stroke that affects their ability to move
- People who are currently receiving treatment to reduce stiffness or increased muscle tone in the affected arm, such as Botox injections
- People who do not have access to a safe and appropriate place to attend the treatment sessions and follow-up visits
