Who might be able to join this trial:
- People aged between 18 and 80 years old
- People who had a stroke (either a blocked blood vessel or a bleeding stroke) between 1 and 12 months ago
- People whose first stroke caused weakness or partial paralysis on one side of the body, with movement ability at a mid-range level (Brunnstrom stage 3, 4, or 5) (confirm with trial site)
- People whose affected arm, wrist, and hand muscles do not have severe stiffness or tightness, as measured by a standard clinical scale (Modified Ashworth Scale score of 2 or below)
- People who are able to understand and follow instructions
Who may not be able to join:
- People with serious heart or lung conditions
- People with skin wounds, infections, or other significant skin problems
- People with serious circulation problems, such as a blood clot in a deep vein (deep vein thrombosis)
- People who have known allergies or significant discomfort related to pressure garment materials
- People with broken bones or severe joint problems in the affected arm
- People with severe difficulties in thinking or memory, as measured by a standard cognitive test (with scores at or below a certain threshold depending on education level) (confirm with trial site)
