Who might be able to join this trial:

• A psychiatrist has diagnosed the person with schizophrenia, confirmed using a standard international classification system (ICD-10).
• The person is between 18 and 65 years old.
• The person is receiving care as an outpatient (not currently staying in hospital for treatment).
• The person has been clinically stable, meaning no psychiatric hospital admissions in the last 6 months and not currently waiting to be admitted to a psychiatric hospital.

• The person is able to understand and agree to participate by giving informed consent.

Who may not be able to join:

• The person has a previously diagnosed learning disability, based on ICD-10 criteria or their medical history.
• The person has difficulties with verbal communication, whether due to language barriers or a medical condition.
• The person is deaf and/or blind.
• The person has a physical condition that would prevent them from using virtual reality (VR) devices.
• The person is currently experiencing predominantly positive symptoms of schizophrenia, as measured by a specific clinical scale (PANSS-C score above 0) (confirm with trial site).
• The person has catatonic symptoms (episodes of abnormal movement or unresponsiveness linked to their condition).
• The person has a previous diagnosis of epilepsy.
• The person has a neurodegenerative disease (a condition involving progressive loss of nerve function, such as Parkinson's or Alzheimer's disease).
