Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 18 and 75 years old
- You have had surgery to fully remove esophageal cancer (a complete, curative surgery — not just partial removal)
- Lab results from your surgery confirmed your cancer type is esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (a specific type of esophageal cancer)
- Scans done before surgery (including CT scans of the neck, chest, and abdomen, plus a bone scan) and results from your surgery show your cancer was at a mid-to-advanced stage (classified as stage pIIB–IVA under a standard medical staging system)
- At least 12 lymph nodes were removed during your surgery
- After surgery, you are feeling well enough to be active most of the day and are considered fit enough to receive radiation therapy and immunotherapy (confirm with trial site)
- You or a family member has signed a form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- You are younger than 18 or older than 75
- Your surgery did not fully remove the cancer, or it was only a partial/palliative removal
- Lab results from your surgery showed a different type of cancer (not esophageal squamous cell carcinoma)
- Your cancer stage was early (stage pI or pIIA) or very advanced (stage pIVB) based on scans and surgical results
- Fewer than 12 lymph nodes were removed during your surgery
- After surgery, your health and activity levels are too low to tolerate radiation therapy and immunotherapy (confirm with trial site)
- You or a family member has not signed the consent form
