Who might be able to join this trial:
- Children older than 1 month and younger than 18 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (a type of blood cancer), confirmed by a bone marrow test
- People whose leukemia has been identified as a specific type called "B-cell" acute lymphoblastic leukemia
- People whose leukemia falls into one of two risk categories based on a specific lab measurement taken on day 19 of treatment — either "provisional low-risk" with a result of 0.1% or higher, or "provisional intermediate-risk" with a result of 0.01% or higher (confirm with trial site)
- The child or their parent/guardian must be willing and able to understand and sign the consent forms approved by the Ethics Committee
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose leukemia cells have a specific marker called "sIgM+" (confirm with trial site)
- People whose leukemia developed from a different blood condition called chronic myeloid leukemia
- People with Down syndrome, or a major in-born or inherited condition that affects how their organs work
- People with a secondary leukemia (a leukemia that developed as a result of another condition or prior treatment)
- People whose leukemia has spread to the central nervous system (brain and spinal cord)
- People with a history of epilepsy, or who have had a seizure in the past month
- People with a known in-born immune system deficiency or metabolic disease
- People with a congenital heart condition that affects how well their heart pumps
- People who have taken steroid medicines (glucocorticoids) for 14 days or more, or certain targeted medicines (ABL kinase inhibitors) for more than 7 days, within the month before joining — or who have had any chemotherapy or radiation therapy within the 3 months before joining (emergency radiation to help with breathing difficulties may be an exception)
- People whose leukemia was classified as high risk from the very beginning of diagnosis
- People whose lab measurement taken on day 46 of treatment shows a result of 1% or higher (confirm with trial site)
