  • You have significant kidney problems, liver problems, serious heart disease (or a heart stent placed in the last 12 months), serious lung disease, a history of blood clots in the veins, a blood clotting disorder, a history of stroke, or a history of cancer
  • You have anaemia (low red blood cell levels based on standard guidelines)
  • Your knee replacement surgery uses robotic or computer navigation technology to assist the surgeon
  • You have other reasons that make a full knee replacement unsafe for you, such as an allergy to metal
