Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed by their neurologist with possible, probable, or definite ALS (also called motor neuron disease), based on a specific set of medical criteria.

Who may not be able to join:
- People who have a history of Crohn's disease, inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel syndrome, coeliac disease, food allergies or sensitivities to any ingredients in the study formula, a neurodegenerative disease other than ALS, or any other ongoing condition that could cause gut or digestive symptoms.
- People who have been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia (a type of dementia that can affect behaviour and language).
- People who are currently unable to eat or drink anything by mouth at all.
- People who need a feeding tube placed urgently right away — for example, because of severe malnutrition or another immediate medical reason.
