Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older at the time of signing consent
- You have been diagnosed with esophageal or gastroesophageal (where the esophagus meets the stomach) cancer, confirmed by a tissue sample
- You are receiving care focused on managing symptoms and quality of life (palliative care), whether or not you are receiving or plan to receive chemotherapy
- You have difficulty swallowing, specifically meaning you can only manage soft or semi-solid foods at a minimum

- Your swallowing difficulty is caused by something other than your cancer

- You have a blood clotting problem that has not been treated or corrected
- You have previously had surgery to remove part of the lower esophagus
- You have a history of enlarged, fragile veins in your esophagus (varices)
- Your expected survival is less than 6 weeks
- You have previously had radiotherapy treatment directed at your esophageal cancer
- Your cancer has grown into nearby structures in a specific advanced way (confirm with trial site)
- You are not able to make your own decisions about participating
- You are currently pregnant or breastfeeding
