Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (a type of bowel disease), confirmed by a combination of clinical assessment, a camera examination of the bowel, and tissue samples.

- People who have been diagnosed with a related bowel condition such as Crohn's disease, indeterminate colitis, ischemic colitis, radiation colitis, diverticular disease associated with colitis, or microscopic colitis.
- People who have tested positive for an active C. difficile infection (a type of bacterial bowel infection).
- People who are pregnant.
- People who have an allergy to soy or fructose (both of which are contained in the product being studied, called Prolife 10 FORTE).
- People who have taken antibiotics or probiotic supplements within the 10 days before their first trial visit.
