  • People with a known allergy or sensitivity to the study drug being used in the trial
  • People who need to take blood-thinning medication (anticoagulants) for any reason
  • People who received clot-busting treatment through a drip (IV thrombolysis) or a procedure to physically remove a clot (thrombectomy) during the acute phase of their stroke
  • People for whom the study drug is otherwise medically unsuitable (confirm with trial site)
  • People with a history of bleeding inside the brain (intracranial hemorrhage)
  • People who have had bleeding in the stomach or digestive tract in the past 6 months
  • People who are being considered for a surgical procedure to clear a blocked neck artery (endarterectomy)
  • People with a history of a blood clotting disorder (coagulopathy)
  • People who are actively experiencing abnormal or uncontrolled bleeding at the time of enrolment
