Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are between 40 and 60 years old
- You have been diagnosed with mild hip arthritis (early stage), and you may also have a torn hip labrum, a hip bone shape problem (femoroacetabular impingement), or mild hip socket shallowness (mild dysplasia)
- After receiving a guided anaesthetic injection into your hip joint, your hip pain reduced by more than half
- You are able to pay for private physiotherapy sessions yourself
- You are able to give your informed consent to take part in the study
Who may not be able to join:
- You currently have an active infection anywhere in your body
- You have bone death in the hip (osteonecrosis), moderate to severe hip arthritis, or moderate to severe hip socket shallowness (dysplasia)
- You have had a previous fracture of the hip, pelvis, or any bone in your lower limb
- You have had previous surgery on your pelvis, hip, or lower limb
- You have a condition that causes very flexible or fragile joints or connective tissue (such as Ehlers-Danlos syndrome or Marfan's syndrome)
- You have ongoing chronic lower back pain and/or sciatica
- You have received a steroid injection into your hip joint within the last 3 months
- You have previously received a hyaluronic acid injection into your hip
- Your hip injury was caused by a car accident
- Your hip injury happened at work and you have a workers' compensation claim
- Your injury is involved in any legal dispute
- You are pregnant or planning to become pregnant
- You are already taking part in another study that does not allow you to join additional studies
- You are unable to give informed consent
- You are unable to follow the study plan and requirements
- You have a medical reason why you cannot receive a steroid or hyaluronic acid injection (confirm with trial site)
- You have previously taken part in this same study
