Who might be able to join this trial:

• People who have been diagnosed with localised prostate cancer (confirmed by biopsy) and were treated with radiotherapy at least 2 years before joining the study.
• People whose prostate cancer has come back and spread to no more than 5 sites in the body, as seen on imaging scans (including bone scan, CT scan, MRI, and PSMA-PET scan), and whose cancer has not yet responded to hormone treatment.
• People whose areas of returning cancer are able to be treated with radiotherapy or surgery, as assessed by the study doctor.
• People whose PSA blood test shows a sign of cancer recurrence — either a rise of 2 ng/ml or more above the lowest PSA level recorded after radiotherapy (if the prostate was not removed), or a rise of 0.2 ng/ml or more above the lowest PSA level recorded after prostatectomy followed by radiotherapy.

Who may not be able to join:

• People under 18 years of age.
• People whose general health and ability to carry out daily activities is significantly limited (confirm with trial site for specific assessment scale used).
• People with a PSA level of 20 ng/ml or higher.
• People who have received hormone therapy (ADT) within the past 2 years, or any other treatment targeting the androgen receptor within the past 6 months.
• People who have previously received chemotherapy for prostate cancer, or who have had both testicles surgically removed — though prior chemotherapy for a different cancer may be acceptable if the person has been free of that cancer for more than 3 years.
• People who have cancer that has spread to the brain or the fluid surrounding the brain and spinal cord.
• People who have cancer causing compression of the spinal cord, or cancer that has spread into the spinal cord itself.
• People who have had another cancer diagnosis in the past 3 years, with the exception of certain non-spreading skin cancers.
• People who have had both hip joints replaced, were previously treated with radiotherapy to the prostate, and now show signs of cancer returning in the prostate with no suitable option for further local treatment.
• People who have had a known allergic reaction to ELIGARD® or similar hormone-based medications used in prostate cancer treatment.
