Who might be able to join this trial:

For Care Partners (a spouse, partner, or family member who is the main caregiver):

  • People who are at least 18 years old
  • People who are able to read and write in English
  • People who score above 24 on a standard memory and thinking test
  • People who live in the same home as the stroke survivor and consider themselves that person's primary caregiver

For Stroke Survivors:

  • People who are at least 18 years old
  • People who had a stroke (either a blocked or bleeding type) more than 3 months ago but less than 2 years ago
  • People who were sent home from hospital with mild to moderate weakness in their arm or hand, and who can still move their wrist at least 20 degrees and their fingers at least 10 degrees
  • People who score above 24 on a standard memory and thinking test
  • People whose doctor has not identified any medical conditions that would prevent them from taking part
  • People who have a care partner living with them in the same home

Who may not be able to join:

  • People (whether a stroke survivor or care partner) who have significant problems with memory or thinking
