For people with breast cancer:

  • Participants must be of Korean nationality
  • Participants must give written agreement to take part in the study voluntarily
  • Breast cancer must have been confirmed through imaging or laboratory tests
  • Participants must have been diagnosed with breast cancer before starting any treatment or surgery, and must be willing and able to provide a blood sample
  • The breast area of concern must have been assessed by ultrasound or mammogram and placed in a risk category known as BI-RADS 4, 5, or 6, and a biopsy must have already been done or be planned within 2 weeks
  • Participants must be adult females aged 40 years or older
  • Participants must be able to provide personal and medical details including age, biological sex, breast density, occupation, tumour measurements and staging, cancer type, family and personal cancer history, any breast-related conditions, and any long-term health conditions

For people with non-cancerous (benign) breast nodules:

  • Participants must be of Korean nationality
  • Participants must give written agreement to take part in the study voluntarily
  • A breast nodule must have been confirmed through imaging or laboratory tests
  • Participants must have been diagnosed with a breast nodule before starting any treatment or surgery, and must be willing and able to provide a blood sample
  • The breast area of concern must have been assessed by ultrasound or mammogram and placed in a risk category known as BI-RADS 4, 5, or 6, and a biopsy must have already been done or be planned within 2 weeks
  • Participants must be adult females aged 40 years or older
  • Participants must be able to provide personal and medical details including age, biological sex, breast density, occupation, nodule size and number, family and personal cancer history, any breast-related conditions, and any long-term health conditions

Who may not be able to join:

  • People who have been diagnosed with any type of cancer within the past 5 years and have received chemotherapy, radiation therapy, or surgery for it
  • People whose breast cancer has been caused by cancer that spread from another part of the body
  • People who are pregnant
  • People who have taken part in a clinical trial involving a drug or medication within the 3 months before signing the consent form
