Who might be able to join this trial:
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You are able and willing to give your formal agreement to take part in the study
- You have been diagnosed with prostate cancer
- You are scheduled for, or have recently had (within the last 4 weeks), a standard PSMA PET scan as part of your normal care
- Optionally, you are scheduled for a biopsy of a known or suspected cancer spread that is not in the bones or lymph nodes
- You are willing and able to have a combined PET/MRI scan as part of this research study
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable or unwilling to give your formal agreement to take part
- You have a medical reason why you cannot have a PET/MRI scan (for example, certain metal implants or other contraindications — confirm with trial site)
- Having the PET/MRI scan would cause an unwanted delay to your cancer treatment
- You need to be sedated with an intravenous (IV) drip to get through the scan — however, if you only need a mild, oral (taken by mouth) anti-anxiety medication, you may still be able to join provided all three of the following apply:
- The medication has already been prescribed to you by your own doctor
- You give your formal agreement to take part before taking the medication
- You bring someone with you to drive you home on the day of the research visit
