Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 20 years or older.
• People who had an acute ischemic stroke (a stroke caused by a blockage) and were treated with a procedure to remove the clot from a large blood vessel in the brain.
• People whose blocked blood vessel was successfully reopened during the clot-removal procedure, as confirmed by a specific medical scoring measure (confirm with trial site).
• People whose blood pressure readings stayed below 150 mmHg on repeated measurements taken within 3 hours after the blood vessel was reopened.
• People whose average blood pressure reading was below 150 mmHg within 2 hours after the blood vessel was successfully reopened.

Who may not be able to join:

• People whose blocked brain blood vessel could not be successfully reopened during the clot-removal procedure.
• People whose blood pressure was 150 mmHg or higher after the blood vessel was reopened.
• People for whom blood pressure-lowering medication cannot be given after the procedure, or where the treating doctor believes aggressive blood pressure management could cause harm, such as an increased risk of bleeding.
• People who developed bleeding in the brain with symptoms before joining the study, following the clot-removal procedure.
• People who cannot receive a medication called Phenylephrine due to a medical reason.
• People who cannot receive blood pressure-lowering medications due to a medical reason.
• People who had significant physical disability before their stroke, as measured by a standard disability scale (confirm with trial site).
• People with heart failure where the heart is pumping with significantly reduced strength (an ejection fraction below 40%).
• People with severe long-term kidney disease who require dialysis or a similar kidney treatment, or whose kidney function is severely reduced.
• People currently taking a class of medications known as MAO inhibitors.
• People with a persistently very slow heart rate (below 45 beats per minute).
• People who are pregnant.
• People with serious existing medical or surgical conditions, including terminal cancer with a life expectancy under 6 months, severe heart or major blood vessel disease, severe blood disorders, advanced chronic heart failure, severe pneumonia, or a serious widespread infection (sepsis).
• People who do not agree to take part in the study.
• People already participating in another clinical trial that does not permit joining additional studies at the same time.
• People the treating doctor considers unsuitable for the study for any reason.
