Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have been diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (a type of inflammatory bowel disease) according to current European medical guidelines
- People who are 18 years of age or older
- People who are able to understand and agree to participate in the study
- People whose ulcerative colitis is currently active at the time of joining the trial
- People who are starting one of the following medications as their second treatment option: vedolizumab, ustekinumab, or a JAK inhibitor (tofacitinib, upadacitinib, or filgotinib)
- People who have previously been treated with at least one anti-TNF medication approved for ulcerative colitis (such as infliximab, adalimumab, or golimumab)
- People who have not previously been treated with vedolizumab, ustekinumab, or any JAK inhibitor
- People who are able to attend at least one follow-up visit after joining the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People diagnosed with Crohn's colitis, unclassified inflammatory bowel disease, or other inflammatory conditions of the digestive system
- People under 18 years of age
- People who are unable to give informed consent to participate
- People whose ulcerative colitis is severely active and requires hospital admission at the time of joining
- People who have never been treated with an anti-TNF medication before
- People who have previously been treated with targeted medications for ulcerative colitis other than anti-TNF medications
- People whose treatment with ustekinumab or a JAK inhibitor was given at a dose or schedule that does not follow the standard approved guidelines for ulcerative colitis (confirm with trial site)
