Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women aged 19 years or older.
- People diagnosed with invasive breast cancer (confirmed by a tissue sample/biopsy) who have received chemotherapy before surgery (called neoadjuvant chemotherapy, or NAC).
- People whose breast cancer was at a certain stage before starting chemotherapy — specifically, the tumor was not too large (classified as T1, T2, or T3) and had not spread to distant parts of the body (confirm with trial site for exact staging details).
- People whose cancer had spread to nearby lymph nodes before chemotherapy may still be considered, provided the cancer is either HER2-positive or triple-negative breast cancer, AND the tumor shrank by at least 30% in size on an MRI scan after chemotherapy.
- People whose underarm (axillary) lymph nodes showed no signs of cancer on ultrasound after completing chemotherapy.
- People who are planned to have breast-conserving surgery (surgery that removes the tumor but keeps most of the breast) and have completed at least half of their planned chemotherapy course.
- People who are generally well enough to carry out daily activities, as measured by a standard health scale (ECOG score of 0–2, confirm with trial site).
- People who have given written agreement to take part before enrolling.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have had any other cancer diagnosis within the past 5 years.
- People who have cancer in both breasts at the same time.
- People whose treatment plan requires removal of the entire breast (mastectomy).
- People whose tumor is larger than 5 cm after completing chemotherapy.
- Men diagnosed with breast cancer.
- People who are currently pregnant or breastfeeding.
- People who are unable to understand or fill out questionnaires.
