Who might be able to join this trial:
- Adults aged 18 or older who have been diagnosed with a very long segment of Barrett's esophagus (a condition where the lining of the food pipe changes)
- People who are well enough to undergo an endoscopy (a procedure where a camera is passed down the throat to look at the food pipe)
- People who are able to understand and agree to participate by giving their informed consent
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have been diagnosed with a tumour in the throat, food pipe, or the junction between the food pipe and stomach, at a more advanced stage (T2 or above), or who have difficulty swallowing
- People who have swollen veins in the food pipe (varices) or a narrowing of the food pipe that needs to be stretched open
- People who have had a stroke or similar brain event within the past 6 months that has affected their ability to swallow
- People who have previously had certain treatments for a pre-cancerous form of Barrett's esophagus, including Photodynamic Therapy (PDT), Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA), or Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC)
- People who are not able to give informed consent
- People under the age of 18
