Who might be able to join this trial:

Patients (Phase 1):

• People whose preferred language for healthcare is Spanish or Mandarin
• People who cannot speak English "very well"
• People who have been diagnosed with breast cancer or gastrointestinal cancer
• People who are attending their first or second appointment with an oncology team at MSK
• People who agree to have their appointments audio-recorded

Healthcare Providers (Phase 1):

• Breast or gastrointestinal cancer doctors, advanced practice providers, or nurses who see patients
• Providers who do not speak Spanish and/or Mandarin (providers who speak one but not the other may still be eligible)
• Providers who agree to be audio-recorded

Clinic Staff (Phase 2):

• Staff members who work or worked at one of the study clinic sites during the Phase 1 study period
• Staff members who agree to be audio-recorded

Who may not be able to join:

Patients (Phase 1):

• People experiencing significant psychiatric symptoms that would make it difficult to complete assessments, interviews, or the consent process
• People with a cognitive condition such as delirium or dementia that would make it difficult to give meaningful consent or take part in data collection

Healthcare Providers (Phase 1) and Clinic Staff (Phase 2):

• No exclusion criteria have been listed for these groups
