  • Your stroke was caused by a blockage in a blood vessel (ischemic stroke, not a bleed)
  • You are 18 years of age or older

  • Your stroke affected only the brainstem or cerebellum (the lower and back parts of the brain)
  • You had strokes on both sides of the brain at the same time

  • You would not be able to attend or complete the required check-ins and study visits over six months
  • You have a reason why you cannot have an MRI scan without contrast dye (for example, a pacemaker or severe claustrophobia)
  • Doctors do not expect you to survive beyond your current hospital stay due to serious complications from the stroke
  • You had a significant pre-existing condition affecting your vision, sense of touch, balance, blood pressure when standing, coordination, or ability to move around
  • Your level of disability after the stroke is very severe, or you are being discharged to hospice care
