- People who have been diagnosed with a stroke, confirmed by a CT or MRI scan
- People who completed a memory and thinking test called the MMSE at least once while in hospital
- People whose stroke occurred more than three months before the follow-up assessment
Who may not be able to join:
- People whose medical records are incomplete, or whose follow-up after stroke was less than three months
- People who had memory or thinking problems recorded in their medical history before their stroke occurred
- People who were unable to complete the MMSE memory and thinking test, for example due to difficulty with speech or any other reason
- People who have also been diagnosed with a serious cancer, or who have a diagnosed psychiatric (mental health) condition
