Who might be able to join this trial:
- You have been diagnosed with Crohn's disease (CD) or ulcerative colitis (UC), confirmed by a doctor
- You are 18 years old or older
- Your inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is currently active enough that your doctor needs to change your treatment — for example, starting a new medication, adjusting your dose, or adding another medicine (including steroids, aminosalicylates, immunosuppressants, or biologic therapies)
- You are willing and able to use a smartphone app called SEMEIA to share information about your health
- You agree to take part in the study for 12 months
Who may not be able to join:
- You are unable to use a smartphone or email
- You are under 18 years old
- You are expected to have bowel surgery within the next 3 months
- You are pregnant at the start of the study
- You have had certain past bowel surgeries, such as removal of most or all of the colon, a stoma (bowel opening through the abdomen), or large portions of the intestine removed that have caused lasting diarrhoea or short bowel syndrome
- You have had recent bowel surgery involving the small intestine in the last 6 months
- You have another serious physical or mental health condition that is not well controlled
- You are currently taking part in another clinical trial that involves an experimental treatment
