Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing to give their consent to participate in the study
- People who have been diagnosed with a stroke caused by a blocked blood vessel (ischemic) and/or a bleed in the brain (hemorrhagic)
- People whose level of disability after stroke falls within a moderate range, as measured by a standard scale called the Modified Rankin Scale (scores of 2 to 4)
- People who are currently attending stroke rehabilitation fewer than 3 days per week
- People who have a healthy caregiver available to support them
Who may not be able to join:
- People who are currently receiving palliative (end-of-life comfort) care
- People who have serious conditions that could interfere with taking part in the study, such as a complete inability to understand or use language (global aphasia), dementia, multiple organ failure, or being unable to move due to a fracture (confirm with trial site for other conditions that may apply)
- People who have a moderate level of thinking or memory difficulties since their stroke, as measured by a standard cognitive test (a score below 22 on the Montreal Cognitive Assessment)
- People who already had some level of disability before their stroke, as measured by the same disability scale mentioned above (a pre-stroke Modified Rankin Scale score greater than 1)
- People who are currently taking part in another clinical research study that involves a treatment or intervention
