Who might be able to join this trial:
- Women who are in a gynaecology ward and are scheduled to have surgery.
- Women who have been given an initial diagnosis of a pelvic mass or malignant ascites (fluid build-up in the abdomen) that may be ovarian cancer, OR an initial diagnosis of an ovarian cyst, blocked fallopian tube, uterine fibroids, or a condition called uterine adenomyosis (a non-cancerous gynaecological condition).
- People who are 18 years of age or older.
- People who are willing to take part and have signed a consent form agreeing to participate.
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have previously been diagnosed with any type of cancer.
- People who have a history of chronic kidney disease or reduced kidney function.
- People who have already received, or are currently receiving, treatment for the condition that led to their hospital admission.
- People whose diagnosis has not been clearly confirmed by tissue or pathology testing.
- People who change their mind and withdraw their consent to participate.
- People who are unable to provide a suitable urine sample.
- People whom the research team determines should be withdrawn from the study for any other reason (confirm with trial site).
