Who might be able to join this trial:

  • You are 18 years old or older
  • You have been diagnosed with a systemic autoimmune disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus, systemic sclerosis, primary Sjögren's disease, sarcoidosis, vasculitis, myositis, Still's disease, or Sharp syndrome
  • You are experiencing voice problems or hoarseness (called dysphonia)
  • A scan or examination has found a change or abnormality on your vocal cords or in your voice box (larynx)

Who may not be able to join:

  • You are under 18 years old
  • Your voice problems are caused by a nerve or neurological condition, or by cancer affecting the vocal cords
  • You have previously had radiation treatment to your neck area
  • You have previously had a breathing tube placed down your throat (such as during surgery or intensive care)
  • You have been diagnosed with cancer of the voice box (laryngeal cancer)
  • You do not wish to take part in the trial
  • You are unable to give your own consent to participate
  • You are currently under a legal protection order (such as guardianship or court-appointed protection) (confirm with trial site)
