Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 18 or older (any sex) who have a confirmed diagnosis of COPD based on 2024 GOLD guidelines, which includes a history of exposure to risk factors (such as smoking) and breathing test results showing airflow limitation, along with a symptom score of 10 or higher on a standard COPD questionnaire
• People whose COPD is classified as GOLD Group E, meaning they have had 2 or more moderate flare-ups, or at least 1 severe flare-up requiring a hospital stay, in the past year
• People with severe or very severe COPD (GOLD stage 3 or 4), where breathing tests show lung function has dropped below 50% of what is expected

Who may not be able to join:

• People who have advanced scarring lung disease affecting 50% or more of the lungs
• People who have high-risk pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the lungs) and are currently on a three-medication treatment plan for it
• People who have active cancer and are currently receiving systemic treatment (such as chemotherapy or similar therapies that work throughout the whole body)
