Who might be able to join this trial:

• People aged 60 years or older.
• People who have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) thought to be related to Alzheimer's disease, based on standard diagnostic guidelines, and confirmed by a study investigator.
• People where there is a reported or observed change in memory or thinking over time, as noted by the person themselves, a family member, or a clinician.
• People who have not been diagnosed with dementia, as determined by a study investigator.
• People whose cognitive decline is not considered to be caused by stroke, brain injury, or other medical conditions, as determined by a study investigator.
• People who show measurable difficulties in one or more areas of thinking or memory (such as processing speed, working memory, attention, verbal or visual memory, or language), based on a formal neuropsychology assessment reviewed by a specialist team.
• People who are willing to give their informed consent to participate.
• People who are able to read and communicate in English (with corrected vision or hearing aids if needed).

Who may not be able to join:

• People who are currently taking medications called acetylcholinesterase inhibitors or memantine (commonly used for Alzheimer's or memory problems).
• People who have had active symptoms of Major Depressive Disorder in the last 3 months.
• People who have ever been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, intellectual disability, or a psychotic disorder.
• People who have had an active substance use disorder in the last 3 months.
• People who have any other psychiatric diagnosis that a study investigator believes may affect the functioning of the front part of the brain (confirm with trial site).
• People who are currently taking anti-seizure medications — though an exception may apply for those taking gabapentin or pregabalin for chronic pain, if the dose has been stable for at least 4 weeks before joining the study.
• People who are currently taking benzodiazepines (a type of sedative or anti-anxiety medication) at a dose higher than the equivalent of 2 mg per day of lorazepam.
• People who have any medical reason they cannot have an MRI scan or receive a type of mild brain stimulation called tACS — for example, those with a cardiac pacemaker, certain hearing devices, or a history of seizures.
