Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who have breast cancer that has come back in the same area or spread to other parts of the body, confirmed by a tissue sample (biopsy), and whose cancer is considered suitable for chemotherapy
- People whose breast cancer has tested negative for a protein called HER2, based on standard testing guidelines
- People aged between 18 and 75 years old
- People with a general health status rated as fairly good to fully active (a performance score of 0, 1, or 2 on a standard medical scale)
- People whose life expectancy is at least 12 weeks
- People who have at least one tumour that can be measured using standard imaging criteria
- People who have already completed at least two cycles of a treatment called sacituzumab govitecan (SG)
- People who have signed a form agreeing to take part in the trial
Who may not be able to join:
- People who have not completed at least two cycles of sacituzumab govitecan treatment
- People who have been diagnosed with another type of cancer in the past five years, unless it was cervical carcinoma in situ, basal cell skin cancer, or squamous cell skin cancer that has been fully treated and cured
- Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, women whose pregnancy test at the start of the trial comes back positive, or women of childbearing age who are not willing to use effective contraception throughout the trial
- People who have a history of neurological (brain or nerve) or psychiatric (mental health) conditions
- People who, in the opinion of the trial researchers, are not suitable for the trial for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
