Who might be able to join this trial:
- People who are willing and able to sign a consent form before any study procedures begin
- People aged 18 to 75 years old
- People who have been diagnosed with esophageal cancer (specifically the squamous cell type) confirmed by a tissue or cell sample
- People whose cancer is at a stage where surgery is not possible (as assessed by a surgeon), or who have declined surgery, and whose cancer is classified as stage II to IVa

Who may not be able to join:
- People for whom enough tissue or blood samples cannot be collected before treatment as required by the study
- People who decline to undergo a specific type of blood test that tracks cancer DNA over time (called ctDNA testing)
- People whose esophageal tumour is located very close to the windpipe, airways, or major blood vessels, where the treating doctor considers there to be a high risk of serious bleeding or perforation
- People who have had another cancer in the past 5 years, other than certain fully treated localised cancers such as early-stage cervical, skin (basal cell), or prostate cancers
- People who have had gastrointestinal bleeding in the past 6 months, have a blood clotting disorder at the time of enrolment, or are currently taking blood-thinning or clot-dissolving medications
- People with serious heart or stroke-related conditions
- People with a history of a lung condition called interstitial lung disease, or who currently have active pneumonia or tuberculosis
- People with known severe allergic reactions to paclitaxel, cisplatin, or any monoclonal antibody medications
- People who the trial doctor considers unsuitable for the study for any other reason (confirm with trial site)
